About Imai Music School/Piano School
IMAI Music Studio is a bilingual music school that focuses on piano. In addition to lessons in Japanese, many children who are returning from overseas and those who attend international schools also attend. In lessons, we develop musical skills through a comprehensive approach. We value communication and develop thinking skills, imagination, memory, and sensitivity. We also have an international perspective that broadens your horizons to the world. Classical music did not originate in Japan. One of the goals of lessons is to experience different cultures through music. In addition to expanding your imagination, we focus on the basics of piano. I often ask my students, "Which part of the body do you think is playing the piano?" You might think it's the hands or fingers, but it's the brain that moves those fingers and hands. That brain can be said to be ourselves. It is the basis of art to be conscious of how the person who plays the piano and moves his or her fingers wants to play. If there is no ideal, practice will not progress. It is not necessarily the case that students have such ideals. I hope that by learning piano, students will be able to understand art and music, help them develop their ideals, acquire the necessary skills to achieve them, and develop the patience to help them practice. Piano lessons are private lessons, so they are conducted through a collaboration between me, the student, and the student's parents (for young children). I sincerely hope that students will be able to realize their own growth, which will lead to self-confidence. An environment where parents and students can share their opinions at a reasonable price is essential for the growth of students. I hope to be involved in the growth of each student through music, with the feeling that we can all grow together through music.
